Absolutely amazing from the moment you step through the door you are struck by the stylish decor which is evident throughout the hotel. Our room was large and comfortable and well equipped even having a fridge. The standout moment of our stay was dining in their restaurant the food was absolutely amazing. One tip book a table in advance as they fill up very quickly as so popular we were lucky enough to get in our first night but not so the second. The other eateries in the area whilst nice just do not stack up. Big round of applause to the new owners you're doing a great job. Our stay at the unicorn was "banging'
I didn't stay but came in for the open mic night last Saturday. It was a lovely atmosphere and Mike was very hospitable all night. Love that their another venue supporting the rich array of musical talent in Llani. Also, the chips and the tequila are banging!
We had a lovely visit to the Unicorn Hotel. The rooms are beautiful and freshly refurbished and the owner couldn't be more welcoming. Highly recommend the hot chocolate! Thank you, Mikey!
Stayed here for the night on our way down to the Royal Welsh Show and what a lovely place. Entry was via a keysafe as the restaurant wasn't open, but the lady talked us through the entry process and got us to our room. What a beautifully decorated (to a high standard) hotel. The room had everything we needed including a fan (as it was quite warm, it came in very handy) and even a small fridge! Good quality beverages, and oiletries, and patterned towels (a change from standard white hotel towels!). It was quiet in Llanidloes but we managed to have a meal and a few drinks. We didn't have time for breakfast in the morning, but I had a very good sleep in the beautiful and comfortable bed! I really can't fault The Uncorn, highly recommended and would stay here again.
Spent two nights in room 7 which was like a small apartment! Lovely fresh decor with quirky furniture and artworks arround the walls. Lovely clean bathroom with a powerful shower and nice towels. Tea making equip and posh biscuits provided and a small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge for a perfect cup of tea (or coffee, choclate etc). Nice street view from the lounge area and the bedroom, big telly in the lounge, comfy bed, books to read, etc. Had a really nice evening meal (Thai Curry) and two lovely cooked breakfasts. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful, even offered to let me park my motor bike in their yard. Price very reasonable for the quality of everything. In short very highly recommended and I am quite fussy !
Stayed here for an evening for a friends wedding, the place itself is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so very difficult to get taxis etc which were unaware of, however Mikey the new owner was different class and drove all 6 of us via two trips to the venue at his own expense, then even offered to get us after midnight. Went above and beyond, what he is doing with the place is great and I'm sure in the next 12 months it will be even better, would definitely recommend if you are up that way for business or pleasure. 29/10/25: A warm welcome will be had here. The tavern is under new management and the atmosphere within is extremely friendly encouraging to locals and those who are travelling through. The deco is clean fresh looking and dogs are welcome in a section of the front lounge.
Mikey is a genuinely warm, welcoming and friendly host. The Unicorn was a wonderful venue for friends and family to come together and spend time celebrating the life of a very special person, Graham.
